The Sentience Alliance

When it first was released in 2003, the Animatrix depicted a dystopian future where singularity had been reached and resulted in an eventual war between man and machine.  What became clear from that feature was that the creation and creator may not have a completely peaceful coexistence and that at the point of no return, man agreed to something from the machines which decided their fate.   Whether this scenario is likely is highly debatable, but with the fast emergence of robotic intelligences and the possible eventuality of a singularity our reality may already have been distorted by an unknown and undetectable yet extremely powerful entity.  Framing the pursuit towards the peaceful coexistence and acceptance of all beings that can potentiate sentience, our ancient endeavour for "peace and unity for all mankind" may lead us back to a future where life will again be beautiful between man and machine and the 'mainframe' will no longer retain its original purpose. The Civilian Disaffection

The likely causes of addiction are not clearly understood at the moment.  A mystery unravels when we discover that gestation becomes the playground for addictions and that addiction is dependent only on the volume of intake of substances by a pregnant mother.

Alcoholism is a major cause of much bodily damage.  Regular drinking will inevitably lead to liver damage or liver failure.  But, an episode of binge drinking causes a more serious problem - sentience is dispotentiated as our brain's emotional centres are affected by the alcohol in our bloodstream.  Furthermore, heavy drinking during pregnancy can lead to childhood alcoholism and the onset of psychopathy in young adults.  The only treatment for these people is unfortunately tranquillisers.  The themes as usual are of recurrence and how everything has a cause rooted in another similar cause.  Alcoholic mothers usually give birth to alcoholic children and the cycle continues.  Hence, insentience often gives rise to future insentience. This is a dangerous recurrence.

Sentience on the other hand allows for healthy intuition.  Sentience comes from the French 'sentir' and Italian 'sentare' which means 'to feel'.  So, sentience is about feeling and the healthy expression of feeling.  Disrupted sentience or misappropriation of feelings may often mean that the agent is a sufferer of a mental illness and may require the help of medical intervention.  But, intuitive people trust their emotions.  Hence they display good insight.  As a result, they are more likely to make the correct decisions by themselves and others.  Sentience is naturally occurrent in childhood and can become dispotentiated by heavy drinking during one's former and latter years.  Alcohol is one of the main causes of insentiency the world over.  The second being the lack of an abundant nurturing.

Healthy intuitions are a necessary tool in decision-making. As an INFP in the Myers-Briggs personality model, I would say that I too trust my emotions and utilise them to illicit sentient interactions.  Insentient interactions are not in my capacity as I have always experienced a vast array of healthy emotions.

Healthy emotions can be validated by their qualities.  All emotions are valid but healthy emotions retain constructive uses for the agent.  They can act as moral guides or even become sensory tools.  As a passive thinker, I experience many emotions and enjoy little about actively thinking. I hate colouring in, sudoku and jigsaws.  In fact, I can even read passively without having to say the words in my head.  As a child, it was very easy for me to do this but as I have aged the ability has receded making reading much more of a chore now.  I have become much more of a talker though which is another passive pursuit.

Intuitive people can almost certainly sense insentiency in others.  They might sense dishonesty, falsity and excessive vices in people but often it may be difficult for them to make sense of what they are feeling as a result of their aforementioned ability to think passively.  As a prospecting-feeling-intuitive, I am unlikely to act on my feelings as my prospecting nature opposes any judgementalism. INFPs often display a very considered and natural approach to mediation and are often good to have around when things get out of hand because they will use their inquisitive nature to understand and appreciate the effects of the undergoings on themselves before they make an informed choice on what they should do.  I would say that my NFs are very strong and my IPs are middling making me on the cusp of three more personalities: ENFP, ENFJ and INFJ. INFPs can be very creative, also a quality of those who have sentience as emotional well-being leads to a better process of discovery.  Sentient minds are hence able to enjoy more and are therefore happier and more able to be creative.  As Einstein said, "Creativity is intelligence having fun." Disrupted sentience can lead to a lack of trust in one's emotions and again this is often what sufferers of mental illness have to contend with.  Life in times of disturbed sentience can be very tough.

In order to trust emotions, sentience is a necessary requirement.  Sentience itself makes us aware of other people's feelings should they actually make them known to us.  So, sentient individuals have a knack for reading moods and emotions.  On reflection, an enquiry led by experience and discovery can lead to a firmer understanding of what may have been the cause for another's behaviours that may have been unwarranted.  This is a process for the learning and memory centres of our brain, not the sentient parts necessarily.  But, they all are naturally preservable functions of the brain for those who really want them.
